Dr. Israel Goldstain has been elected national chairman of the United Palestine Appeal, it was announced here today at U.P.A. headquarters.
In accepting the post, Dr. Goldstein said that the over all program of the U.P.A. and its agencies in Palestine will entail a total expenditure of more than $85,000,000 this year. He emphasised that despite the current crises in the Middle East, “hundreds of thousands of homeless Jews in Europe are ardently looking to Palestine as the only hope of overcoming the bitter nightmare of the past and the blesk hopelessness of their present DP status.”
