Dr. Israel Katz, a settler from the United States, has been appointed director of the National Insurance Institute, effective at the beginning of next year, it was announced here. Dr. Katz was head of the Paul Baerwald School of Social Work at the Hebrew University and is presently on sabbatical leave in London. He will succeed the present director, Giora Lotan, who is retiring.
Maj. Gen. Josef Geva, former military attache at the Israel Embassy in Washington, who was slated to take the post, has been appointed director-general of the new Absorption Ministry headed by Deputy Prime Minister Yigal Allon.
