Dr. Jacob Horowitz, vice-president of the Rabbinical Association of Germany who recently came here from Frankfurt-am-Main, died here today at the age of 65. Dr. Horowitz last December was reported a mental patient in a Frankfurt hospital following a fortnight’s detention in prison, to which he was taken during a general round-up of Jews. He was the spiritual leader of the orthodox Frankfurt Jewish Community, a teacher in the Jewish Religious and Pedagogical Academy at Frankfurt and the author of many books on philosophical subjects, the bible and rabbinical teachings, as well as numerous articles on topical subjects.
