Dr. Jacob Rosenheim, president of the Agudath Israel, the Orthodox Jewish world organization, sailed yesterday for Germany on the “Deutschland.”
A mass meeting was held at Cooper Union before Dr. Rosenheim’s departure. Leo Wroschner, German philanthropist, and Dr. Solomon Ehrman addressed the meeting.
When interviewed before his departure by a representative of the “Jewish Daily Bulletin,” Mr. Rosenheim categorically denied that his organization had anything to do with the Shechita question in Tel Aviv, which led to the now famous decision of the Palestine Supreme Court, destroying the unity of shechita supervision in Palestine.
“As the responsible director of the Palestine Political Department of the Agudath Israel, as soon as the decision of the Palestine Supreme Court was known, I urged our Jerusalem representatives to emphasize in the clearest manner to the Palestine authorities that the lawful regulation and the prevention of anarchy in the shechita supervision is also our wish,” Dr. Rosenheim declared.
