Dr. Joseph Krauskopf, rabbi of Temple Kenesseth Israel, Philadelphia and one of the most prominent figures in American Jewry died at the Breakers Hotel today from heart trouble. His wife and four children were at his bedside when the end came.
Dr. Krauskopf was 65 years old. He came to Atlantic City several weeks ago to recover his health and for some time seemed to show considerable improvement. Yesterday he suffered a heart attack and was in a state of come until he passed away.
Dr. Krauskopf was the founder of the National Farm School for training Jewish young men in agriculture, located at Doylestown Pa. One of the oldest graduates of the Hebrew Union College was connected with the Philadelphia Temple since 1887. He was one of the special relief commissioners to Cuba for the United States in 1898. He was the author of numerous books on Jewish subjects.
