Dr. Louis Kantor, a native of Syracuse, who served as the head of the Sanitation Department of the Palestine government, died here yesterday at the age of forty-eight.
Dr. Kantor came to Palestine in 1918 with the first Hadassah Unit as sanitation engineer and settled permanently in the country.
Dr. Kantor was a graduate engineer and took part in the construction of the Panama Canal. For a period he also served with the City Administration of New York. During the war he served with the Federal government. He did much to rid Palestine of malaria.
