Dr. Max Kollenscher, a collaborator of Dr. Theodor Herzl, father of modern political Zionism, died here today. He was 62 years old.
Born in Posen, Dr. Kollenscher played an important role in the revolution of 1905. When Posen became part of Poland, he founded the Jewish Folks Council, whose platform was national minorities rights for Jews.
Dr. Kollenscher later moved to Berlin, where he was active in Zionist and other Jewish affairs. He is the author of a number of volumes on the Jews of Posen and Germany.
