Dr. Leo Baeck Becomes First Foreign Rabbi to Pronounce Invocation at House Session

Dr. Leo Baeck yesterday became the first non American rabbi to deliver the prayer opening a session of the House of Representatives when he pronounced the traditional invocation at the Lincoln Day meeting of the House.

Dr. Baeck, who was an outstanding religious leader of German Jewry before the rise of Hitler, and at present is head of the World Union for Progressive Judaism, is in this country to participate in a religious cavalcade sponsored by the Union of American Hebrew Congregations.
