Dr. Max Danzis, nationally known surgeon and one of the founders of Beth Israel Hospital of Newark, died here at the age of 79. A native of Russia, Dr. Danzis came to this country when he was 15 and was graduated from Bellevue Medical School in 1899. He was a former president of the Newark Academy of Medicine, the Essex County Medical Society and of the Board of Beth Israel.
