Dr. Max Seligman, Palestinian lawyer here on a ##ssion for the Asirai Zion Fund, today issued a statement denying charges made by ##e United Zionist Council of Canada that during his fund-raising tour in Canada he ##ai#ed that he was authorized by the Palestine Chief Rabbinate to speak on its be##lf.“I have always made it perfectly clear that my tour was being conducted on be##lf of the Asirai Zion Fund, and that that Fund had the support of the Chief Rabbinate and Mayor Rokach,” Dr. Seligman said. He insisted that the majority of the Jwish prisoners and detainees did not receive ample care from the Jewish National council in Palestine and that the families of men deported to Eritrea or Kenya have ##ver received any support from the Council, but have been maintained solely by the ##irai Zion Committee.
