Dr. Maurice J. Perlzweig, director of the international affairs department of the World Jewish Congress, was honored here today at a reception given on the occasion of his 60th birthday at the Stephen Wise Congress House.
The reception was attended by United Nations leaders, representatives of the Israel Government, Jewish communal leaders and members of the diplomatic corps. Messages from communal leaders in various parts of the world were received. Dr. Israel Goldstein, chairman of the WJC Western Hemisphere executive, paid tribute to Dr. Perlzweig, and Abraham Hyman, its administrative director, presented him with a gift. Dr. Nahum Goldmann, WJC president, who was ill and could not attend the reception, sent a message in which he lauded Dr. Perlzweig’s achievements.
