Appearing on behalf of the Jewish community of Tripolitania at the U.N. Political Committee today, Dr. Maurice Perlzweig called on the Committee to include in its resolution on Libyan independence a provision that any commission set up to guide the country during the transitory period to independence include a representative of minority groups in Libya. He also urged that the government system to come into being in an independent Libya should be based on principles guaranteeing religious and cultural autonomy for the minorities.
