Dr. Sam Rabinovitch, hero of the recent anti-Semitic interne strike here, was appointed to a surgical interneship in Mount Sinai Hospital in Baltimore today. The appointment is effective from August 1.
Dr. Rabinovitch, whose appointment to Notre Dame Hospital precipitated a walkout of other internes who refused to countenance the presence of a Jew in their midst, and who later resigned rather than endanger patients in Montreal hospitals, has received many letters from French Canadians disavowing the action taken by members of their race.
The anti-Semitic strike of the Notre Dame internes was disavowed by hospital authorities, but when there was a threat of a city-wide hospital strike which would endanger the lives of patients, Dr. Rabinovitch refused to remain at his post and resigned.
