The 1964 International Prize for Applied Medical Science has bean awarded to Dr. Albert B. Sabin, originator of the oral polio vaccine bearing his name, it was announced here today.
The 25 million lire ($40,280) award will be presented to the Jewish medical scientist on Saturday. It is co-sponsored by the Italian National Academy of Lynxes and the Antonio Feltrinelli Foundation.
