Dr. Albert Sabin, developer of the oral polio vaccine bearing his name, told a gathering assembled for the planting of a forest in his honor today that he was delighted to learn that not a single case of polio had been recorded in Israel during August.
The Forest, planted by the Jewish National Fund in the United States Freedom Forest, will comprise 15, 000 trees. A dinner in Dr. Sabin’s honor was attended by Deputy Health Minister Itzhak Rafael, scientists and members of the JNF directorate.
