Nearly 1, 000 delegates from all parts of the United States and Puerto Rico met here today for the opening session of the 35th annual convention of the National Federation of Jewish Men’s clubs, affiliated with the United Synagogue of America, the congregational body of the Conservative movement.
Dr. Salo W. Baron, professor emeritus of Jewish history, literature and institutions at Columbia University, was presented with the Federation’s annual Distinguished Service Award at the dinner session this evening. Dr. Baron was cited for his outstanding contribution to American Jewry.
