Dr. Joseph J. Schwartz, vice president of the Israel Bond Organization, left for a brief visit to Israel today to confer with that country’s leaders. He will meet with Premier Golda Meir, Minister of Finance Commerce and Industry Ze’ev Sharef and Pincus Sapir, former Finance Minister and presently Minister-Without-Portfolio. Mr. Schwartz said before his departure that the prospect of continued tensions and lack of a peace settlement in 1970 “confronts Israel with a continued drain of record proportions on their resources for purposes of defense.” Maintenance of the Nation’s program of economic development, he said, will require “maximum” Bonds sale support.
