Dr. Jacob K. Shankman, of New Rochelle, N. Y., was elected president of the World Union for Progressive Judaism, the 22-country organization of Reform and Liberal Jews. He succeeds Rabbi Solomon B. Freehof, of Pittsburgh. The World Union was founded in London in 1926, and maintains headquarters in New York.
