Dr. Shoshkes Honored; Receives Prize for Jewish Book on Travel

Dr. Henry Shoshkes, noted Jewish author and member of the HIAS staff, was honored at a testimonial dinner here last night by Jewish writers on the occasion of his receiving a prize for travel literature established by the World Congress for Yiddish Culture.

The prize was awarded to Dr. Shoshkes for his latest book, “Through Unknown Countries,” containing his impressions on Jewish life in various countries which he visited. Speakers at the dinner included Itzig Manger, noted Jewish poet; Dr. Leon I. Wulman, of the World OSE Union, Jacob Pat, of the Jewish Culture Congress, Dr. I. Schwarzbart, of the World Jewish Congress, and others.
