Dr. Abba Hillel Silver will leave for Israel on April 23rd for a four-week stay as the honored guest of the General Zionists there, it was announced here today. The last time Dr. Silver visited Israel was two and a half years ago.
The national executive committee of the Zionist Organization of America adopted a resolution expressing satisfaction over the announcement. “We are confident that the citizenry of Israel, fully aware of the historic services tendered by Dr. Silver in the long struggle to establish the Jewish State, will welcome his presence in their midst — not only out of recognition of his unparallelled contributions to the Zionist cause but also out of a profound awareness that Dr. Silver speaks for the broad mass of American Zionists,” the resolution said.
