A 36-year-old educator was named today as the next president of the College of Jewish Studies here, a constituent of the Chicago Board of Jewish Education. He is Dr. David Weinstein, now registrar, professor of education and assistant to the dean at Hebrew Teachers College, Brookline, Mass.
According to Samuel N. Katzin, president of the Board of Education here, Dr. Weinstein, who will assume his new post February I, will be the youngest president in the 40-year history of the college “and one of the youngest college presidents in the world.” Dr. Weinstein, a native of Boston, holds advanced degrees from Harvard and the Hebrew Teachers College. He is the author of a number of books. Hebrew-English dictionaries and works on modern Jewish education.
