Dr. Chaim Weizmann, president of the Jewish Agency for Palestine, arrived here yesterday to plan action on a number of important problems concerning the World Zionist movement and the Jewish position in Palestine. He stated that one of his missions here is to further the formation of a Jewish army to fight with the United Nations.
Dr. Weizmann is scheduled to participate in a three-day Zionist conference which will open in the Waldorf-Astoria in New York on May 9th. The conference, which will adopt important decisions, will be the first in America in which leading Zionists from various European countries, who are now in the United States, will participate.
Leib Jaffe, director of the Keren Hayesod in Jerusalem, who spent several months in America today left for Argentina to direct the Keren Hayesod campaign there. He will also visit Chile and other Latin-American countries in the interests if the Keren Hayesod.
