In his first public appearance since his return from the United States, Dr. Chaim Weizmann, president of the Jewish Agency for Palestine and of the World Zionist Organization, today paid tribute to the late Major Victor Cazalet, who died in the plane crash that took the life of Polish Premier Sikorski.
Speaking at memorial ceremonies arranged by the Jewish Agency office here, Dr. Weizmann described Major Cazalet as “one of the few precious friends of the Jewish people in modern times who never was moved from his devotion to the (Zionist) cause.” Major Cazalet’s grave at Gibraltar will be a place of pilgrimage for the Jewish people, Dr. Weizmann concluded. Many members of parliament and Major Cazalet’s family attended the ceremonies.
