(Jewish Daily Bulletin)
Dr. Chaim Weizmann, president of the World Zionist Organization, was received by Secretary of State Kellogg and Vice-president Dawes yesterday. Dr. Weizmann, it is understood, described the progress of the Zionist movement in upbuilding Palestine as the Jewish National homeland.
Dr. Elwood Mead, Chief of the United States Reclamation Service, called upon Dr. Weizmann and told him of the information he had gathered on the agricultural and economic possibilities of Palestine, as a result of his recent visit to that country. Dr. Mead, who is considered one of the leading American experts on irrigation and reclamation of land, is understood to have expressed a very optimistic view concerning the development of Palestine, stating that in some respects, the natural opportunities in Palestine are equal to those of southern California.
A provision in the will of the late Morris Landau of White Plains, N. Y., who owned a chain of stores and who left a $200,000 estate, directs his executors to continue to pay for land he bought in Palestine, so that if any relative emigrated to Palestine they could use the land without cost. The will was filed with Surrogate Slater yesterday.
Mr. Landau died on Nov. 23. He left legacies to various hospitals and other institutions.
