Dr. Wolfgang von Weisl, noted journalist, today started a twenty-eight-day hunger strike at the Latrun detention camp where he has been kept for several weeks together with the arrested members of the Jewish Agency executive and other Jewish detainees.
Dr. von Weisl, who was the Middle-Eastern correspondent of the “Vossische Zeitung,” a leading newspaper in Germany, before the Nazi regime, resided in Palestine for many years, and finally settled with his family in Palestine after the outbreak of the war. He has been for many years an active leader of the Zionist-Revisionist movement and close collaborator of the late Visdimir Jabotinsky, its founder.
