Dr. Yaakov Herzog, director-general of the Prime Minister’s Office in Jerusalem, delivered the first Fanny Lowy Memorial Lecture here before a capacity audience of 800 in the Shaar Hashomayim Synagogue. His lecture was devoted to the relationship of Israel and world Jewry and the new significance of Israel in Jewish life and thought since the June war.
The Fanny Lowy Memorial Lectures are sponsored by the Allied Jewish Community Services and endowed by Jacob M. Lowy and his daughters in honor of Mrs. Lowy who died in Nov. 1966.
