Ernest Glendinning, now appearing in “By Your Leave,” at the Barrymore Theatre, speadks at the regular meeting of the junior branch ofthe Jewish Free Shoe Fund. During the past year this organization has donated more than 500 pairs of shoes. Mr. Glendinning will speak on the work of the Stage relief fund. The meeting is scheduled for three o???lock at the Hyde Park Hotel, East 77th Street.
MIELZINER’S 29 SCENES
Joe Mielziner is designing the settins for Guthrie. McClntic’s production of Sidney Howard’s play, “Yellow Jack.” The play, calling for twently-nine scenes, offered a serious problem to this able designer. Mr. Mielziner has, however, surmounted all difficulties. The original designs, made some time ago, “are on exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art.
DEMAND FOR ‘CATHERINE’
Because of the great demand for “Catherine the Great,” now being shown at the Astor Theatre, starring the brilliant Elizabeth Bergner, the policy of two showings a day will be suspended for Saturday and Snday of the nest two weeks.
SELWART ON AIR
Tonio Selwart, the ingratiating leading man of “The Pursuit of Happiness,” now playing at the Avon Theatre, will speak in behalf of the Statge Relief Fund, over Station WABC at 4 p. m. today.
GROPPER OFF TO SOUCH
Milton Herbert Gropper, author and co-producer with Ernest Truex of Broadway’s newest laugh ocmedy, “Sing and Whistle,” is leaving for a vacation in Bermuda.
