Nine Jewish workmen, accused of participation in a Communist demonstration on May 1 which resulted in disturbances, were tried by the local court today. The charge also included membership in an illegal organization.
Four were acquitted. Kanievsky was sentenced to 50 days imprisonment to be followed by deportation, Luk to 30 days and deportation and the two Leker brothers and Volkoviski to 30 days imprisonment.
