Drastic anti-Jewish trade curbs have been decreed in Prague by Reich Protector Konstantin von Neurath, Nazi ruler in the Bohemia-Moravia Protectorate.
One part of the edict sets April 1 as the closing date for all Jewish textile clothing and leather goods shops. The second part specifies that all other kinds of Jewish shops must close their doors “whenever the authorities find it necessary.
At the same time, all commercial enterprises in Slovakia have been ordered to submit lists of their owners, directors and stockholders. The lists must specify religion. The order is a preliminary step to “Aryanization” of all Jewish owned firms.
