The Accountant General of Israel has instructed all Ministers to halt their drawing of government funds until further instruction, it was learned here today.
It is understood that the instructions were Issued in view of a drastic shortage of government cash. This is due to a lag in tax receipts in the past few months.
Two subcommittees were appointed today for joint action by the government and the Jewish Agency on problems of coordination of immigration and absorption programs. One subcommittee will operate in the arena of local affairs and will be headed by Finance Minister Levi Eshkol. The second body, under the chairmanship of Justice Minister Pinchas Rosen, will concentrate on overseas matters.
