Dr. Drummond Shiels, British under-secretary for the Colonies, left today for Palestine. He will remain until the end of October. During his stay he will investigate political and economic conditions and confer with government officials and representatives of all sections of the population. It is expected that on the basis of his observations together with the report of Sir John Simpson the British government will formulate its expected program for the future development of Palestine, in accordance with its promise to the League of Nations. Dr. Shiels will be the guest of Sir John Chancellor, High Commissioner of Palestine.
