American Jewry must not permit false and unthinking accusations of “dual loyalty” to deter it from discharging a basic human obligation to afford every moral and material aid to the people of Israel, Myer Dorfman, national commander, declared here today in an address opening the Jewish War Veterans of the United States 54th annual encampment.
Commander Dorfman asserted that “while Israel’s politics are her own affair, the human needs of her inhabitants are the concern of every right thinking person whatever his religious belief or private political view.” A vanguard of 1,800 dele gates heard the J.W.V. leader couple an attack on Communism and Fascism with a warning against attempting to “dispose of one evil by resorting to the weapons of another.”
