The United Nations role in the Arab-Israel issue was discussed today by United Nations Secretary General Dag Hammarskjold with Secretary of State John Foster Dulles, it was made known following a luncheon meeting of the two today. Mr. Hammarskjold told the press:
“I came to Washington today at the invitation of Secretary Dulles to discuss with him and members of his staff some of the impressions which I carried away with me as a result of my visit to Middle Eastern and other Asian countries. During our conversation at luncheon we discussed, among other things, the role the United Nations might usefully play in helping resolve some of the problems which face the world today.”
