Two leading Dutch attorneys appealed today for suspension of sentences imposed a few years ago on four German war criminals who have been in Dutch jails since their convictions. The four were convicted in the murder of Dutch Jews and resistance fighters during the Nazi occupation. They were sentenced to hard labor for life. The Dutch lawyers appealed to the “generosity of the Dutch people” to have the sentences suspended and the four men returned to Germany.
