A number of Dutch Jews received awards in the Queen’s Honors List announced here today on the occasion of Queen Juliana’s 48th birthday. Among them are:
Miss Elizabeth Straschnow, Chancellor of the Netherlands Legation in Israel, gold medal of the Order Orange Nassau; Dr. A.D. Belinfante, a senior official of the Ministry of Justice, Knight of the Order of the Dutch Lion; Dr. Martin Levie, president of the Ashkenazi Jewish Community of Rotterdam and a leading Zionist, an officer of the Order of Orange Nassau; Johan G. Wertheim, noted sculptor, Knight of the Order of Orange Nassau, and Ishak J. Bueno de Mesquita, president of the Sephardic Board of Guardians of Paramaribo, Surinam, Knight of the Order of Orange Nassau.
