Dutch Jews are warned not to attempt to contact relatives who have been interned in the Nazi labor camp at Westerbork, in Holland, in the current issue of the Joodsche Weeksbald, organ of the Amsterdam Jewish Council, which was received here today. The Jews are advised to send all communications to the special Westerbork section of the Jewish Council, which will attempt to forward them. The weekly also carries a notice of the death at the Westerbork camp of a sixty-nine-year-old Jew, Willem Bloch.
The German occupation authorities have intensified the recruitment of Dutch Jews for forced labor in Germany. The Joodsche Weeksbald this week repeats its warning to the effect that Jews trying to shirk employment in Germany will be dealt with severely by the Gestapo. The warning is published as a result of pressure by the Nazi occupational authorities.
