A Dutch magistrate who fined a Jewish musician 13 guilders ($2.50) for insulting a former Nazi, advised the ex-Nazi plaintiff today that he doubted whether he could maintain a claim for damages to his “honor and good reputation.”
In assessing the nominal fine against the Jewish defendant, the magistrate said he had taken into consideration the fact that he had suffered under the Nazi regime and that many of his relatives had been exterminated in Nazi concentration camps.
