Baron Andres von Koskull, 59, has been arrested and is being held in Haarlem prison awaiting a decision by the Dutch Government on a request from the West German Government for his extradition to face a Nazi war crimes trial, officials here said today.
Von Koskull, an officer in the Nazi army during the Second World War, is under indictment in Germany, charged with murdering many Jews in southern Russia during the war. He was arrested yesterday in Curacao after arriving there on an Italian steamer. He was flown to Schiphol Airport and taken to prison by Dutch police.
