Thirty-two Dutch artists presented a number of their paintings and sculptures to the state of Israel at a ceremony here today attended by the Israel Minister to Holland, Dr. Michael Amir, and Amsterdam city officials. The gifts were presented to Dr. Amir by sculptor Johan Van Zweden who termed them an expression of friendship and esteem for the new state.
Mr. Van Zweden pointed out that The Netherlands, and particularly the city of Amsterdam, owed much to Jews. In an address, partially delivered in Dutch, Dr. Amir thanked the artists for their gifts.
