Fourteen East Africa air force men received their wings today at a special ceremony at an Israeli Air Force base in northern Israel after completing special nine-month training courses.
Gen. Joseph Mobutu, Commander of the Congolese Army, was another African performing his first air drop. Gen. Mobutu completed a highly accelerated paratroop course yesterday and had his first drop from an Israeli plane the same day. He was trained in the same base as some 200 of his commandoes who are now receiving paratroop training in Israel.
The 14 airmen are mostly from Uganda and Tanganyika.
