For the first time in two years, members of the entire diplomatic corps stationed here–including envoys of the Soviet Union, United States, Britain and France–gathered here to participate jointly in the celebration marking the second anniversary of the state of Israel.
The East and West diplomats, led by the doyen of the diplomatic colony, Soviet Ambassador J. Kavtaradse, met together at a cocktail party arranged by Israel’s charge d’affaires, Eliezer Halevy. High officials of the Rumanian Foreign Ministry also attended the celebration.
