A rapprochment between the Ukrainians and the Jews in Eastern Galicia was seen today when the “Dilo” organ of Ukrainian opinion, published an editorial today advocating an understanding between the Ukrainians and Jews with regard to the forthcoming parliamentary elections in Poland.
The newspaper states that the Ukrainian leader Lewicki and the Ukrainians in Eastern Galiciaa are ready for an understanding with that part of the Jewish population which is in sympathy with the Ukrainian movement. This statement signifies an approval of the proposed creation of a bloc of the national minorities advocated by Deputy Isaac Gruenbaum of the Club of Jewish Deputies. This plan is being opposed by the group led by Dr. Leon Reich.
