Eban Confers with Vice-president Nixon on U.s.-israel Problems

Israel Ambassador Abba Eban met today with Vice-President Richard M. Nixon at the Senate for a discussion of American-Israel relations and the situation in the Middle East. The details of the conversation were not disclosed.

Earlier today Mr. Eban, ###ccompanied by Peretz Bernstein, Israel Minister of Trade and Industry, called on Secretary of Agriculture Ezra T. Benson. A discussion of Israel’s food and supply problems took place. At the conclusion of the meeting with Sec. Benson, Dr. Bernstein expressed appreciation for the Secretary’s attitude which he characterized as ”cordial and helpful.”Minister Bernstein also paid a courtesy call on Secretary of Commerce Sinclair Weeks, on which he was accompanied by Israel Minister David Goitein. Topics of mutual interest were covered during a friendly conversation.
