Prospects for German restitution for crimes against Jewry were discussed today by Israel Ambassador Abba Eban with director Henry G. Byroade of the State Department’s Bureau of German Affairs. Byroade leaves today for Germany.
Mr. Eban said the discussion covered the results of the recent conference on Jewish claims against Germany, the Israel Government’s reaction to the statement by Chancellor Konrad Adenauer, and a review of the Israel request for combined support by the occupying powers for the Jewish claims against Germany.
