The request that the United States should proclaim support of Israel so that its Arab neighbors would realize the permanence of the Jewish State was voiced today by Senator Hubert H. Humphrey, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Near Eastern Subcommittee, in a television appearance.
Sen. Humphrey also suggested that a large oil pipeline be constructed across Israel from Elath to the Mediterranean so that the West will not be entirely dependent on oil transit through United Arab Republic controlled territory.
