“Israel will work for the early replacement of the U.N. General Assembly resolution calling for the internationalization of Jerusalem by a constructive solution harmonizing the religious interests of the international community with the legitimate political aspirations of Jerusalem and Israel,” Israel’s permanent delegate to the United Nations, Aubrey S. Eban, declared last night at the ninth annual dinner of the American Technion Society.
J.W. Wunsch, president of the Society, read a cable from Dr. Shlomo Kaplansky, president of the Technion, which reported that the Research Council of Israel had granted $400,000 to the Technion for the purchase of scientific instruments. The grant is part of the allocation for scientific research in Israel received from the $100,000,000 U.S. loan. Mr. Wunsch also announced the launching of the “Greater Technion Fund” totalling $5,000,000 for the expansion of the Technion.
