Foreign Minister Abba Eban and his senior aides conferred today with Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations, Yosef Tekoah, “in preparation for the continuation of negotiations for the establishment of peace which are taking place under the auspices of Ambassador (Gunnar V.) Jarring,” the Foreign Ministry said tonight. The Ministry spokesman noted that “since Israel has decided to participate, she is devoting detailed thought to the matter and is insisting that her representative be empowered to convey an exact impression of the atmosphere in Israel and of the views of the Israel government.” Mr. Tekoah is expected to return to New York some time next week. The newspaper Maariv reported today that Dr. Jarring asked Ambassador Tekoah to help continue the talks at a swift pace.
