Pointing out the disparity between Palestine imports of $5,000,000 from the United States in 1938 and exports of only $500,000, the American Economic Committee for Palestine announced today the launching of a campaign to increase purchases of Palestinian goods in America.
The committee, which hitherto has functioned only as an economic information service, said its campaign would seek to educate the public and “straighten out the unfair proportion of imports and exports relative to Palestine and the United States; and it is hoped that the public will fulfill its duty by purchase of Palestine products whereby a normal trade exchange can occur.”
