Economic sanctions could be imposed on Syria if it doesn’t comply with a recent U.N. Security Council resolution, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations said. If Syria doesn’t comply “immediately and completely” with Monday’s resolution, which demands that it cooperate with a U.N. investigation into the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, then “economic sanctions are on the table,” John Bolton said at the Anti-Defamation League’s annual National Commission meeting Thursday in New York.
