Rep. Sol Bloom, chairman of the House Foreign affairs Committee, today informed the House that his committee has reported unfavorably on a resolution to investigate the Palestine situation. The resolution, introduced by Rep. Jacob Javits, would have called on the State Department to answer several, questions regarding Palestine policy.
Rep. Bloom told the House that his committee was recommending that the resolution should not pass. He said it would come up for House discussion on Monday. The Committee’s decision was based a recommendation of the State Department that such en investigation would not be appropriate at this time, it was learned.
